BOISE, Idaho — We first introduced you to Rocky Detwiler last summer when he pulled a prosthetic leg out of the Boise River and gave it back to its owner, earning him a new nickname, the Boise River Robin Hood.
Rocky had a difficult time tracking down the owner, so he came up with a way to help identify items he found in the river or allow people to tell him where they lost their valuables.
"After getting the River Robin Hood name I put together a Facebook page where you can post anything you lost, give us details and I will go find it," said Detwiler.
Rocky's most recent experience inspired the page, he found another prosthetic leg and got it back to its owner.
Jacob Welty has endured a difficult year, he was in a life-threatening car accident with his best friend back in January, he suffered multiple injuries and had to have his left leg amputated.
"I've pretty much lost everything during this year," said Welty. "I can't thank Rocky enough for everything he did to help me."
Welty lost his leg floating the river, but Rocky was able to find it as several members of the community came out to help Jacob.
Jacob still needs help, a screw broke that creates suction for his leg to fit and he told us he has to wear 18 pairs of socks to keep the leg tight.
Welty has a Go Fund Me Page set up if you would like to help Jacob fix his prosthetic leg.
