MCCALL, Idaho — Fresh snow continues to pummel Idaho's mountains and that means big news for skiers and snowboarders.
Every season winter enthusiasts pray for snow before the season starts and those prayers are getting answered now.
"We've already had two feet this week, we are expecting three more feet, and another foot after that," said April Whitney with Brundage Mountain Resort. "Whenever you start talking about snow accumulation in feet instead of inches there are a lot of happy people up in ski towns.”
The mountain was bustling with people Saturday anxious to ride the fresh powder.
"It's great, excellent, the best of the year," exclaimed a group of riders who were on the chairlift. "It’s soft, thick and wonderful looks like our prayers paid off."
Brundage Mountain also does avalanche mitigation throughout the season, however, since the conditions are constantly changing Whitney told us it is really important for people to pay attention to closures and obey signs on the mountain.
“If there are areas that we determine are patently unsafe we put a closure on it," said Whitney. "The best thing you can do as a skier or a rider is respect those closures and be patient with ski patrol.”
