There will be fewer parking spots in downtown Boise Friday, but don't let that get your heart rate up.

National Parking Day began as a way to rethink public spaces and the ways cities are designed while maintaining infrastructure that allows good biking and walking opportunities.

The Idaho Walk Bike Alliance, the AARP and the American Heart Association want people to pause and think about your health and try to de-stress a bit.

Look along 8th street for the informative and interactive kiosks. The event runs from 11:00 until 5:00 along the south side of 8th street.

“Some health trivia, some jenga, I believe we have some bachi ball for people to come play there will be lots of games. There will be music. Spots for people to sit down relax and de-stress you know if they want a little break between meeting during their day, it’s a great place to come sit for a minute," said Erin Bennett, Government Relations Director for the American Heart Association Idaho Division.
