BOISE, Idaho — The search for the new Boise Police Chief has been narrowed down to two candidates, according to a City of Boise press release. The city will be interviewing Ryan Lee from Portland, Oregon and Joseph Chacon from Austin, Texas.
It was announced earlier this week that Ron Winegar is now Acting Police Chief, as the current Acting Police Chief, Mike Masterson, is retiring. Panel interviews will be done using video with teams of local leaders in law enforcement, two community panels and a Boise Police Department panel.
The panel interviews should be complete in the next two weeks. After they are complete, the next steps will be determined.
