CALDWELL, Idaho — After a shooting that left one man in critical condition and a woman with minor injuries, Caldwell Police Department placed four officers on administrative leave Saturday night.
According to police. officers responded to reports of shots fired at the 3000 block of Colorado Ave. at 7:45 p.m. After checking the area and meeting with neighbors, officers were unable to find a suspect or evidence of a shooting.
A second shots fired call came in around 9:10 p.m. in the same area. Police say the man identified as Shane Farwell shot at officers upon arrival, and officers returned fire, leaving Farwell in critical condition.
According to a press release, police later learned Farwell had an argument with his wife earlier that evening. As his wife was leaving, police say he fired a weapon but did not hit her.
Farwell then went to a neighbor's house, according to police, where he forced his way into their home and held them at gun point.
Police say Farwell then fired at a vehicle driving by, striking a woman in the vehicle with pellets from the shotgun shell. The woman was later treated and released from West Valley Hospital for minor injuries.
Authorities say no officers were injured, and the incident is still being investigated.
