UPDATE: Midland Boulevard in Nampa is now open to traffic after a car versus train accident just after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

Idaho State Police report 25-year-old Vanessa Guillen of Notus was heading southbound on Midland Blvd. in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am and drove around the railroad crossing arms before being struck by on oncoming train.

The Union Pacific train was heading eastbound.

Guillen's sedan was then pushed off the tracks, striking a large electrical box.

Officers say she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, and was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The crash is still under investigation, but the area was reopened to traffic around 12:30 p.m.

Police say the railroad crossing arms were down and active at the time of the crash.
