NAMPA, Idaho — A Nampa teen is in the hospital after police say he appeared to have been shot twice around midnight Saturday night on the 200 block of High Street.

He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is expected to survive, according to officers.

Nampa Police say they received a call of gunshots in the area early Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers say they discovered a 16-year-old Nampa male lying in the street, who "appeared to have been struck twice as a result of the shooting."

According to officers, a motive is unknown at this time.

The investigation by Nampa Police Department is ongoing, and no suspects are in custody -- but police are asking for your help, because they believe there were several witnesses who may have left prior to police arrival.
