ORIGINAL STORY:
Boise Police are searching neighborhoods in the Emerald and Orchard Street area -– commonly known as the “bench” -- for a wanted subject.
Residents have been advised to immediately report any suspicious activity.
Officers were initially dispatched after police received a citizen’s report of a possible wanted subject spotted in the area, according to BPD spokesperson Haley Williams.
Several streets in the neighborhoods are blocked, and residents report seeing armed SWAT officers in the area.
Meridian Police confirm a K-9 unit has also been dispatched to the area, but Meridian Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea tells us the unit was dispatched “only to assist Boise Police.”
Williams stated the person officers are searching for is believed wanted in connection with a shooting, but she declined to provide details.
She also did not provide a suspect description, nor did she say if the suspect is considered armed or dangerous.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
