ELMORE COUNTY, Idaho — A Texas man is in the Elmore County Detention Center after fleeing from a traffic stop on Wednesday and leading deputies and police officers on a high-speed chase through the county and Mountain Home. The man was identified as Craig Croft during the traffic stop by a narcotics detective from the Elmore County Sheriff's Office.
Police say the chase ended when Croft tried to enter Mountain Home Air Force Base and was stopped with help of Defenders from the 366th Security Forces Squadron. Croft was taken into custody by Elmore County Sheriff's Office Deputies.
Croft is facing charges of felony eluding, trafficking in controlled substances and attempted aggravated assault, according to the Elmore County Sheriff's jail roster. The investigation is ongoing and no more information is being released at this time.
