BOISE, Idaho — Strong thunderstorms and gusty winds Saturday prompted at least 50 power outages across the Treasure Valley.

Winds in Boise County even blew portions of the Horseshoe Bend High School roof off and into Highway 55. Banks-Lowman Road was shut down briefly Saturday afternoon while crews cleared downed power lines.

As of 2:30 p.m. Idaho Power was aware of 50 power outages stretching from Caldwell to Glenns Ferry.

More than 10,000 people around Caldwell are without power. Customers around Homedale, Greenleaf, Wilder, Nampa, Boise, Meridian and Eagle are also without power.

Crews are working all across the Treasure Valley and expect to have the issues resolved by midnight.
