BOISE, Idaho — We are a little over 24 hours away from what is described as the toughest half marathon in the northwest.
Runners are getting ready for the 42nd Race to Robie Creek. The race starts at Fort Boise and participants will run, walk or crawl over Aldape Summit and down to the finish line at Robie Creek Park.
This year, flooding caused a washout leading to concerns over the condition of the route. As we reported last week, the Ada County Highway District immediately hauled in dirt to fix the damage and Rocky Canyon Road is now back open.
Racers are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero and the best costumes will be recognized. Friends and family are welcome to dress up at the race start too.
The race kicks off Saturday at noon.
