Rely on Public Transit? Valley Ride is implementing significant changes starting Monday

BOISE, Idaho — If you rely on public transportation to get from point A to point B, you might need to adjust your schedule.

Valley Regional Transit will be implementing significant changes to its bus services in both Ada and Canyon Counties starting on Monday.

The changes will impact fixed line service in Boise to Garden City, Nampa to Caldwell, and inter-county services between Ada and Canyon Counties.

Routes 1-5, 9-12, 16-17, 28, 40, 42 have routing or frequency changes, and routes 9X, 14, 16, 18, 41 have been either discontinued or consolidated with other routes.

The 51 East Nampa route will no longer have service between mid-morning and mid-afternoon. There will be fifteen-minute service on 9 State Street during peak hours and 30-minute all-day service on Saturdays.

On 3 Vista, bus service will also run every fifteen minutes during peak hours, and 30 minutes during midday and evenings. The hours of operation for the that route has also been extended to 9:15 p.m.

The number of ValleyRide routes going to the airport will increase to three, from one, and service will be extended to 9:33 p.m. (currently 6:35 p.m.)via 3 Vista.
