BOISE, Ida. — This Wednesday, over 250 Boys & Girls Club members will float around Roaring Springs' Endless River to mark the start of the 19th annual Great Dolphin Dunk.

This year's goal is to raise $30,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. Wednesday's Hope Float starts the month-long sales campaign where visitors can purchase a toy dolphin for $3 to participate in the Dunk next month.

In the past 18 years, the Great Dolphin Dunk has raised over $880,000 in cash and in-kind donations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. The Clubs provide essential support to more than 4,500 children, including academic support, healthy meals, and a safe place to go after school and in the summer. The cost to join the Clubs in Garden City, Kuna, Meridian, Peregrine, and Desert Sage is $25 for the entire summer.

The Hope Float is from noon to 1 p.m. on July 3. Then on Sunday, August 11, at noon, 10,000 toy dolphins will be dropped in Roaring Springs' Endless River for a race to the finish. Grand prizes include season passes for four, $500 cash donated by Bent Nail Inspections, free Idaho Pizza Company pizza for one year, and a paddleboard.

Roaring Springs gives all proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. The park also gives one free water park ticket to club members for every 25 dolphins sold.
