Rollover crash near Bliss killed one

BLISS, ID – A Gooding man was killed after a single vehicle rollover crash near Bliss on Sunday.

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, at approximately 2:55 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle rollover injury crash on US26 at milepost 142, near Bliss.

A 1999 Ford F250, driven by a juvenile, was eastbound when the driver fell asleep.  The vehicle went off the right shoulder and the driver awakened, overcorrected, and then went across both lanes of travel and rolled off the north shoulder of the roadway.

A passenger, Jesus Gomez-Rangel, 55, of Gooding, was ejected from the vehicle. Gomez-Rangel was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus hospital in Boise.  He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The driver and a second passenger, Alfredo Solis, 35, of Gooding, were taken by ground ambulance to North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding. 

Gomez-Rangel and Solis were not wearing seatbelts.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
