BOISE, Idaho — The sound of bell ringers outside your favorite neighborhood store means the holiday donation season has officially kicked off.
This year, The Salvation Army is going high-tech and making it easier than ever to donate.
Now, with just a swipe of your iPhone or Android, you can make sure The Salvation Army gets the donations they need to be sustainable all year.
"This year we're able to put this sticker on here and you can do Apple Pay, Google Pay, and also we're going to have a little bump for the cellphone, and they can come up and use their cellphones to give," said Major Michael Halverson, the coordinator for the Treasure Valley Salvation Army.
The bell ringers will be at many local grocery stores starting on Wednesday.
