Administrators, police and students join forces

Some 50 students and administrators at Sawtooth Middle School -- and even two local police officers -- cut and shaved their hair as the rest of the school cheered them on to raise money for Saint Baldrick’s Foundation for children’s cancer research.

Seventeen people cut their locks as donations to  the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.

The ceremony, although raucous, was held in memory of a proud Sawtooth Middle School Sabretooth, Matt Wilkins, a fourteen-year-old who died of cancer in 2010.

The school nurse organized the event which helped raised nearly $6,000 on March 17th and an additional $8,000 on March 18th.
