BOISE, Idaho — Hunger doesn't take a summer break.

For months we've been telling you about the economic decline that has affected hundreds and thousands of Idahoans; leading to historically high unemployment and food insecurity across the state.

This week, we're hoping to help. Idaho News 6 along with the Scripps Howard Foundation will match every donation to The Idaho Foodbank up to $12,000. Our hope? To provide at least 120,000 meals to food-insecure individuals throughout the community.

Karen Vauk the President and CEO of the Foodbank tells us the donation, “is heartwarming, not only for us as an organization but for everyone else in the state. Just knowing that your friends and your neighbors care, and they’re there to help you take away a little bit of that lonely feeling.”
