UPDATE: Officials say they recovered the body of 22-year-old Joshua Dean Squires just after 6:50 p.m. on Thursday night.

Water rescue crews responded to Pillar Falls on the Snake River after a reported drowning Wednesday night. The victim has been identified as Joshua Dean Squires, 22, of Gooding, Idaho.

Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Stewart tells On Your Side two men were walking across some rocks near the falls around 8 p.m. when both men slipped and tumbled into the water.

One of the men was able to make it out of the water, but Squires, who was wearing a black shirt and black shorts, was swept away says Stewart.

At the request of the Sheriff's office, the Bureau of Reclamation has dropped the flow of water at Milner Dam to aid in the search. It will take 10 hours for the reduced flow to reach the area. Crews expect to resume recovery efforts Friday afternoon.

We will update this story as more details become available.
