BOISE, Idaho — The seasonal off-leash program for dogs in two Boise parks is ending on February 28 due to the return of spring sports. Starting on March 1, people are asked to leash their dogs in Ann Morrison Park and at Optimist Youth Sports Complex.
The program is intended to increase off-leash opportunities for dogs during the winter when sports leagues are not taking place. The off-leash program helps prevent long-term damage to parks and addresses public health and safety concerns caused by geese.
The City of Boise offers several locations for dogs to be off-leash during the spring and summer. Click here to learn more about dog-friendly parks and areas in Boise.
The off-leash program will start again in November when sports leagues end at both sites.
