Seattle man's body recovered from Idaho lake

TWIN LAKES, Idaho (AP) -- Authorities recovered the body of a 65-year-old Seattle man who slipped under water in a lake in Idaho.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that deputies and rescuers were called Friday afternoon to report of a man who had jumped into the water in Lower Twin Lake and had yelled for help before disappearing.

The sheriff's office says David A. Greene had jumped into the water from a boat to cool off.

Rescue attempts were hampered by poor visibility and heavy vegetation in the water, authorities said. Rescuers located Greene's body Friday evening.

The sheriff's office says Greene was not wearing a life jacket and that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the incident.
