Simpson wins 12th term in Congress

BOISE — Rep. Mike Simpson is likely to win his 11th election to the U.S. House of Representatives, with early election results showing Simpson with a 79,498 vote lead over Democratic challenger Aaron Swisher.

Simpson (R-Idaho) first ran for Congress in 1998 and has remained in office since. This year, Simpson had received 64.06% percent of the vote to Swisher's 31.72%.

Simpson will be joined by Congressman Russ Fulcher (R-Idaho), who won his re-election bid for a second term on Tuesday.
