BOISE, Idaho — The old space of Piper Pub downtown is getting a southern comfort spin to it.

The new southern cuisine, Tupelo Honey, will whip up southern food while using local Idaho ingredients, and is hoping to have everything running by mid-November.

The style of food isn't the only thing changing for the space, with a redesign to fit the theme of the restaurant. Sophie Sestero, a spokesperson for the restaurant, says that every Tupelo Honey restaurant is different.

"You'll notice as you walk around that they've really made some changes to the building," Sestero said. "They've updated the design, but no two Tupelo Honey locations are the same, so they've tried to make sure that this is unique for Boise as well as unique for Tupelo Honey."

The chain is originally based in North Carolina and they chose Idaho as the first western city to expand to.
