STAR, Idaho — The man involved in a shooting with Star Police is dead, according to Ada County Sheriff's Office.
Star Police and the man were involved in a shooting Wednesday morning near State Street and Star Road.
Star Police responded to a call for help where they were they first made contact with the man and say he was acting erratically. Shortly after, police learned he had a stolen gun on him leading officers on a search to find him in Star.
Update to Star PD OIS: the adult man the officer engaged with earlier today is deceased. The case remains under active investigation.

Detectives patrolling the area found the man near State Street and Star Road outside the Star Mercantile and Lumber Store according to police.
Officers say he was uncooperative which led to the shooting. Police performed first aid measures, but the man died on the scene.
"This is something that really doesn't happen in Star. Again, I know it's a very scary incident. Star's a small town. We're getting bigger, but it's a small, tight-knit community. We don't see this type of thing very often," Star Police Chief Zach Hessing said.
The officer involved was not injured and the case remains under active investigation, according to ACSO.
