Storyfort holds launch party in downtown Boise

The Treefort Music Fest is a little more than two weeks away.  That means a long list of assorted “forts” will pop up to go along with it. Hackfort, Alefort, Comedyfort, just about any kind of fort you can imagine will be represented.

That includes Storyfort which held a launch party tonight at the Modern Hotel and Bar in downtown Boise.

The event was a preview of the event which is a celebration of storytelling from a wide variety of genres.  Storyfort runs March 24th-27th while Treefort runs from the 23rd-27th, but organizers tried to schedule the majority of readings outside times occupied by musical performances.

“We get a lot of writers who come out, people who are interested, if you are a reader or a writer, a lover of words. So to see them perform is really cool. It's just actually quite fun. I think having it be just kind of a less sort of stodgy poetry reading, fiction reading kind of atmosphere you know we have beer, wine, food, good times," said Storyfort producer Christian Winn.
