DONNELLY, Idaho — Tamarack Mountain Resort has been open for recreation for a little over a month and they feature all sorts of different recreational amenities.

But for people who visit Tamarack one of their favorite activities is all the mountain biking trails that can be accessed by riding the chairlift to the top.

A fifteen-minute ride gives riders access to a number of different rides and 1700 vertical feet of downhill singletrack.

“I feel like there is a really good variety for beginners, some challenges for intermediates and there are some advanced trails that will make you grow hair in places," said Jeani Mangrum who travels from Boise to ride. "It’s just a sweet place to come."

Mitchel Herlein manages both the terrain park in the winter and the mountain bike park in the summer, he tells us Tamarack is working on a new beginner trail that will likely be open before the season ends.

"It will take you from the top all the way down to the bottom of the mountain and it is for the new beginner riders who really want to get into mountain biking," said Herlien.
