Tamarack Resort is getting ready to welcome a new addition this weekend: the Wildwood Express chairlift!
Crews installed the chairlift over summer. It whisks skiers and riders up 1,646 vertical feet of some of Tamarack's intermediate and expert terrain during a ride time of less than six minutes.
Tamarack will host a brief opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28 and give away a souvenir to the first 250 people. The ceremony will also mark the opening of the associated terrain for the season.
Saturday also sees the start of the new Tamarack Ski Bus. The resort is partnering with Caldwell Transportation for the round-trip service for Boise-area skiers and riders to get to the mountain.
The Bus departs from the Eagle Promenade Shopping Center at the corner of Highway 55 and State Street in Eagle (near Petsmart and Home Depot) and travels to and from Tamarack Resort each Saturday through February 29, 2020. There's room for 56 passengers to enjoy reclining seats, bathroom facilities, Wifi, and room for ski and snowboard equipment.
The bus leaves Eagle at 7 a.m. and arrives at Tamarack at 9:30 a.m. It will depart Tamarack at 4:30 p.m. and arrive back at the Eagle Promenade at 7 p.m. Reservations are required, and the trip costs $20 plus tax.
