NAMPA, Idaho — Nampa Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with a string of business burglaries.

Early Wednesday morning, workers at five Nampa businesses –- four vape shops and one pawn shop -- reported evidence of attempted break-ins or burglaries.

“Through surveillance video, officers could identify a potential suspect vehicle. Our crime analysis unit connected the suspect vehicle to an earlier call in the morning in which a citizen reported a similar vehicle at a local auto dealership at an unusual time of day,” explained Nampa Police spokesman Gary Marang.

The citizen tip helped officers to identify suspects, which ultimately lead to the arrest of 17-year-old male, Marang said.

The teen now faces five counts of burglary, five counts of vandalism, and one count of petty theft.

“Investigators are continuing to follow up on this case and identify any other possible suspects,” Marang said.

If you have information about these or other burglaries or attempted break-ins, you are urged to contact Cpl. Bryce Martin with the Nampa Police Department at 208-468-4486.
