BOISE, Idaho — The Boise State Broncos survived in overtime to remain undefeated in the Mountain West Conference Saturday night, as they beat the Wyoming Cowboys 20-17 in overtime.
With the win, the Broncos moved up in both the coaches and the AP poll to number 19 in the nation.
The Broncos trailed by seven in the 3rd quarter, but Boise State tied it up on a touchdown by Khalil Shakir with 5:37 to play in the 4th quarter.
After a nervous finish to the game, the Broncos got the ball first in overtime and Eric Sachse connected on a 28-yard-field goal.
When it was Wyoming's turn, the Cowboys missed a field goal and the Broncos stayed unbeaten on the blue.
It was Chase Cord's first career win as a starter. Cord was 19-30 for 190 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Hank Bachmeier did not play because of an injury. This marks the second game thisof the season Bachmeier was unable to play.
Boise State hosts New Mexico next Saturday on the blue at 8:15 p.m.
