The Garden City Police Department has a new chief following the retirement of Chief Rick Allen back in July.
Chief Cory Stambaugh was appointed on August 28 following a vote by Garden City Mayor John Evans and the city council.
Before being appointed to chief, Stambaugh served as a lieutenant to the GCPD. He was also able to fill the role as interim police chief following Chief Rick Allen's resignation.
