Tomorrow afternoon The Idaho Foodbank will host their annual "Empty Bowls" event at the Grove Plaza in downtown Boise. The event hopes to raise $50,000 which would provide 250,000 meals for families across the state.

Throughout the year, The Idaho Foodbank collects handcrafted and hand-painted bowls from professional and amateur artisans, students and businesses. Empty Bowls attendees can choose from close to 2,000 bowls for a $10 purchase, which also includes one serving of gourmet soup and bread. Why soup? Standing in the soup line is a unique way for folks to experience just a little glimpse into the struggles of our community’s food insecure.

More than 20 local restaurants have donated bisques, stews, chills, chowders and more.
