NAMPA — The Nampa Rod & Gun Club welcomed the best shooters in Idaho and Eastern Oregon to the Treasure Valley for the Idaho USPSA Sectional Championship.
This is a unique shooting competition that requires shooters to run and move through a course while shooting at different targets.
"USPSA shooting is all about practical type of shooting," said range master Evans Kuo. "We set up stages that force a lot of movement, speed and accuracy, it's what the competitors like and enjoy."
Hawktech Arms a local gun dealer out of Meridan sponsored the event and the owner told us that shooting competitions are a great way to introduce people to firearms.
"I believe the future of our firearms industry is centered around shooting sports it is where we are going to get new shooters," said Dan Hawkins. "The two fastest growing segments of the gun industry are women and juniors."
The Idaho USPSA Sectional Championship brought the best shooters from six different clubs in Idaho, as well as shooters from around the region, to see who was the top shot, but more than that this event encourages all ages and any skill level with different categories of competition.
If this is something you are interested in trying it out, the Nampa Rod & Gun Club hosts two pistol matches every month. You can also become a USPSA member.
