The new Cloverdale Bridge over I-84 has been under construction since last summer. It's warranted many closures on I-84 and it will warrant one more.
Closures began Monday night and will continue until Thursday evening. The closures are:
March 4th and 5th: All eastbound lanes and two left westbound lanes are closed from 9 p.m to 5 a.m. Eagle road is your detour and you can hop back on I-84 at the Cole/Overland or Franklin on-ramps.
March 6th and 7th: All westbound lanes and two left eastbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m to 6 a.m. The Cole/Overland and Franklin exits are your detour and you can jump back on I-84 from Eagle road.
Construction crews will spend these next couple of days installing girders (safety beams) for the new Cloverdale Overpass bridge. The closures are required to preserve the safety of the traveling public and allow the work to be done. These overnight closures are the final anticipated interstate closures needed for this project.
ITD hopes to open the overpass in June.
