SMITHS FERRY, Idaho — Traffic on Idaho's Highway 55 is backed up near Cascade and Smiths Ferry, according to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD).
This -- naturally made worse by the highway's typically heavy Sunday night traffic as folks head south toward the Treasure Valley from some of Idaho's most visited mountain towns.
"ITD maintenance crews and traffic control are en route to replace signals with flaggers and clear out the southbound lane ASAP," said an ITD representative in a Tweet Sunday.
The department writes that they apologize for "any longer than anticipated delays."
