BOISE, Idaho — The Treasure Valley YMCA has created a program to help teenagers stay home and do their part to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. It is called the Stay at Home Pledge and it is designed for those between the ages of 13 and 19.
If teenagers agree to stay at home, they will receive a free, three-month youth summer membership to the YMCA.
"One of our tenets at the Y is social responsibility, and so as the shutdown and the pandemic has progressed, we realize the importance of people staying home, and we also realize how hard that is for teenagers," said David Duro, Treasure Valley YMCA president and CEO.
To participate, teens need to print the pledge from the YMCA website, take a photo or video and share it to the Y's Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts. You can find more information here.
