TREASURE VALLEY — YMCA facilities in the Treasure Valley will reopen to members on May 26. The reopening process will happen in phases, and members will notice several changes to increase safety, including cleaning protocols and social distancing.

Members and staff are asked to do wellness self-assessment before entering a YMCA location. If you have any symptoms related to COVID-19, you will be asked to stay home.

The initial reopening consists of the weight and cardio rooms at all four facilities.

"We are eager to open our doors and serve the community, and to do this, we are squarely focused on how to make the Y a healthy and safe place for all," said David Duro, Treasure Valley Family YMCA President and CEO. "The initial reopening plan will allow us to implement our new safety measures on a smaller scale in preparation for opening more areas within our facilities and programs in the near future."

There will be more hand washing and sanitizing stations available, as well as extra disinfecting supplies throughout the facilities. There is an increased cleaning schedule in place, and high use areas will be closed and cleaned daily.

YMCA locations will be open Monday through Friday from 5 am to 8 pm, Saturday from 7 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Additional areas will reopen later, including aquatic centers, group exercise studios and youth programs.

The YMCA reopening plan is dependent upon meeting Phase II criteria of Governor Little's Idaho Rebounds Plan.
