BOISE, Idaho — Harrison Boulevard features a long time tradition of being the best place in Boise to trick-or-treat on Halloween.
But Halloween looked a lot different as not as many people came out on this spooky holiday.
A majority of houses on the block didn't give out candy because of the pandemic, but that didn't stop the houses from still putting out impressive decorations.
"Folks have been enjoying Harrison Boulevard and all the decorations for a couple of weeks," said Marybeth Flachbart who lives on Harrison BLVD. "Halloween has been different, but Halloween."
Flachbart had one of the few houses that did give out candy, but they did it in a way that kids could reach into a bowl to get their candy while social distancing if they were brave enough to approach the monsters at this house.
Flachbart told us after such a difficult year for children it was nice to be able to spread some joy on one of her favorite days of the year.
"A lot of joy, Halloween is my very favorite holiday," said Fachbart. "
We also learned that the residents on Harrison Boulevard encouraged people to come to this area over the last two weeks to avoid a large crowd on Halloween night.
