BOISE — #ShopState is a social media campaign that's meant to encourage people to shop at State Street businesses.

"Definitely something we'd like to take advantage of. I think we came in right when the construction was starting so I could see the positive out of it," said Humberto Arechiga, Taqueria El Torito.

The Ada County Highway District is putting forth an effort to help shops that have been impacted by construction along the corridor.

"It's tough being a small business as is to the point where anything helps, but anything like this construction, it impacts companies bottom line so every little bit helps," said Nick Petterson, State Street Antiques.

"We're all coming together as business owners and supporting one another," said Tammy Stevens, owner, Treasure Valley Skate.

29 participating businesses from 27th to Glenwood on State Street are taking part.

People who shop at the participating businesses are encouraged to use #ShopState on their social media accounts and they will be entered into a raffle for a prize.

The campaign runs April 29th through May 10th.
