Two Canyon County jail escapees back in custody

Posted

Two inmates who escaped from the Canyon County Jail’s minimum-security tent facility last weekend are now back in custody.

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, with help from the U.S. Marshal’s Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force and the Caldwell Police Department, took the two into custody without incident.

Jeffrey Duvall and Juan Cervantes were both located inside a home on Bighorn Way in Caldwell, according to a Canyon County Sheriff’s Office news release.

“The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding their escape and interviewing potential witnesses,” said Canyon County spokesman Joe Decker. “Both Duvall and Cervantes are expected to be charged with felony escape and malicious injury to property. Additional charges against the two have not been ruled out. Other individuals may also be charged.”
