While some students spend spring break on beaches, a group of students from the University of Idaho are spending their spring break in the valley giving back.

The group came down from Moscow to donate their time to multiple agencies to help the homeless community.

This week they are volunteering at the Boise Rescue Mission, theRiver of Life, and Corpus Christi Day Shelter

Vandals spent the day Monday painting apartments at the Boise Rescue Mission's transitional housing center.

While they said they could have done other things for spring break, this is more rewarding.

"I just wanted to do something with my spring break that would be more meaningful. I think that when I'm older, like ten years from now, if i went and just partied or hung out at home, watched Netflix I wouldn't remember it. I feel like this experience is going to be memorable and meaningful years down the road," said Clara Bowman, a student at the University of Idaho.

The school has students all around the Pacific Northwest doing different projects to give back.
