BOISE, Idaho — This spring, Idaho faced a historic high of 11.8% unemployment. According to recent Idaho Department of Labor data, more than 50,000 Idahoans are still out of work.

To help those Idahoans who are unemployed, Jim Bolen, a photographer for Play of Light Photographics, will be taking complimentary headshots for job-seeking Idahoans on Wednesday, July 22 from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Brookfield Property located at Boise Towne Square.

Nothing says "I’m ready to work” more than a brand new professional headshot. HeadshotBooker and Brookfield Properties are planning to provide 10,000 unemployed Americans with complimentary headshots in a single-day photography event that one local Boise photographer is participating in.

"I've been there, and there's been times, a couple times I've lost my job because something happened to our business, and it's just a great way to help these people," said Bolen. "A good professional headshot is like a virtual handshake, and it's a great way to help open up the door."

Complimentary headshots are being offered to anyone currently unemployed, but it is recommended that -- before the event -- participants visit HeadshotBooker to schedule a ten-minute timeslot to be photographed.

More than 200 photographers are participating across the United States, creating pop-up studios at nearly every Brookfield Properties retail location nationwide. Headshots will be provided to participants on-site through the event photo-sharing platform SpotMyPhotos.
