United Way of Treasure Valley establishes online donation portal for medical supplies

BOISE, Idaho — United Way of Treasure Valley, Central District Health Department, Southwest District Health Department, local medical clinics, hospitals, and social service providers have come together to establish a central donation portal for urgent medical supplies and other medical support equipment.

This platform provides a system for matching new and unused inventory, ready for donation, with local medical providers who need these items. The supply of medically necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical hygiene items to fight the COVID-19 epidemic is critically low. In some cases, health clinics, care providers, long-term care facilities, and hospitals are out of supplies.

Many professions such as manufacturing, auto, paint suppliers and technicians, personal care professionals including hair, nail, and skin technicians, dental, animal clinics, and many more use some of the same equipment needed by medical providers. To donate any new and unused supplies you have--such as extra gloves, hand sanitizer, face masks, medical equipment, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items--click here, look for the COVID-19 banner, then click a yellow highlighted link.

You will be asked to provide your contact information so your supplies can safely be collected. Local health providers are asking residents of the Treasure Valley not to deliver supplies in person. All supplies will be collected through the online collection portal.
