Tonight at 6:30 p.m., people will gather at the Idaho Peace Officers' Memorial for a candlelight vigil to show their support to those wounded in the shooting on Friday especially the officer who is the hospital with a critical injury.

The Treasure Valley Lodge Eleven Fraternal Order of Police is putting on the event. The Boise police captain says the department is so thankful people are so willing to help out and that they are overwhelmed with all the kind gestures.

"We think it's a great opportunity for members of our community to come together and members of the first responder community to come together and just show support and really an opportunity to gather and unite," said Captain Ron Winegar, Boise Police Department.

If you are not able to make it to the event, you can still help out. Fundraising efforts are underway to help the officer who is in the hospital from a critical injury.

A GoFundMe page has been set up and has already raised more than $ 50,000. To go that page, click here, https://www.gofundme.com/boise-officer-shot-multiple-times

Donations are also being accepted at Mountain West Bank Branches. Just say you'd like to donate to the Fraternal Order of Police Treasure Valley Lodge Number 11 fund.
