Police, paramedics, and firefighters are often the first on-scene to domestic violence calls.
On Thursday, some of the people most affected by those calls got a thank you.
Volunteers and staff from the Women's and Children's Alliance and Saint Alphonsus dropped off baskets of goodies.
Included was a thank you note with a drawing from a child in the WCA childcare.
One of the first stops was Ada County Paramedics Station off of Liberty in Boise.
"Often times we're called to those situations to assess patients and determine the need for transport or evaluation at the hospital so we definitely see it on a daily basis," said Justin Parton, advanced EMT, Ada County Paramedics.
October is domestic violence awareness month.
