West Ada School District is canceling all outdoor after school activities due to worsening air quality.
It is the second day in a row the district has canceled after school activities due to poor air quality.
The district announced it originally planned to hold middle school after school activities, but the air quality continued to decline throughout the day, leading to the cancellation.
After school activities, which include sporting practices and games, will be canceled when the air quality is in the red. Teams may resume practices later in the evening if air quality drops to orange area, the district announced.
If it is in the orange, the programs must increase the frequency of breaks and focus on lower breathing rates during that practice, according to the district.
