Comedian Nick Swardson May 4th, 2018 | Doors at 6:30PM Show at 7:30PM Swardson is best known for his role in RENO 911! and as the writer and producer of popular films like Grandma’s Boy, The Benchwarmers, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. He has had two Comedy Central one-hour stand-up specials and was the host of his own sketch comedy show, Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time. Currently, Swardson is starring in Typical Rick, a sitcom that he created for Comedy Central that premiered in 2016.
TEDxBoise 2018
May 5th, 2018 | 1PM - 9PM TEDxBoise is in ‘Uncharted Territory: Putting Ideas on the Map.’ Reflect on the past and live in the present while we question what we know and seek out what we do not. The TEDxBoise speakers will take you on a trek to explore new topics or visit familiar ones with a different perspective. Capitalism, 3D Printing, Queerspawn, and River Surfing are just a few of the talks on this year’s itinerary.
Volcanic Features near Mountain Home
May 5th, 2018 | 7:30AM - 5PM Field trip coordinator Steve Cox will lead this trip to view a number of interesting volcanic features in the Mountain Home area, including a ferro-magmatic basalt flow full of plagioclase crystals on I-84, the Crater Rings, Sheep Maar vent, Smith’s Crack, Eureka Cave, Teapot Dome and Cinder Cone Butte. You’ll also discuss a new theory of the Yellowstone Hotspot while looking out over the beginning of the Eastern Snake River Plain. Dress for the weather, bring food and drinks.
Amy's Annual Plus-Sized Clothing Swap
May 5th, 2018 | 6PM - 8PM Come celebrate International No Diet Day with the Boise Rad Fat Collective. This yearly event at Amy's house is such a fun, free way to shop and hang out with other body positive people. Everyone puts their items out in semi-organized sections and then the shopping begins. Such a great way to try out new styles and sizes in an earth-friendly (and wallet-friendly) way. Boise Farmers Market May 5th, 2018 | 9AM - 1PM The Boise Farmers Market is the community's source for locally grown foods sold by the farmer. The Market features specialty food products, Idaho goods and a select few artisans, plus a community space to learn about food and sustainability. Saturdays through October.
2018 Boise Record Show and Swap May 6th, 2018 | 10AM - 4PM Dealers from multiple states — including private dealers and independent record stores — will offer thousands of records across a wide variety of genres. Everyone from the hardcore collector hunting for rarities to the thrifty newcomer looking to start a collection will find something at the swap. Vintage audio equipment, including turntables, also will be available for purchase.
Colossal Cinematic Showcase
May 6th, 2018 | 4PM - 7PM Together, Clam City Productions (Larry Dennis) and X Marx The Spot Productions (Melina Marx) host the Colossal Cinematic Showcase. This biannual red carpet event showcases the work of filmmakers and is a cinematic storytelling of journeys. The 2nd Annual Scentsy Con Kid Tech Fair May 4th, 2018 | 5PM - 8PM Turn off the TV’s, walk out of the movie theaters — the real superheroes will be gathering on the grounds of Scentsy for The 2nd Annual Scentsy Con! Stop by for lots of delicious food, a costume contest, a martial arts demonstration to teach the kids superhero skills, booths, interactive games and prizes for kids — all to raise money for the Valley’s Computers for Kids program, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the technological divide among today’s youth. Booths will include virtual reality, Robotics, 3D printing, and a real robot!

May 4th, 2018 | 7PM - 9PM The Velma V. Morrison Center Presents: Click, Clack, Moo! Cows that type? Hens on strike! Whoever heard of such a thing!? When Farmer Brown’s granddaughter Jenny comes for a visit, Farmer Brown declared the farm a "tech-free zone."
He confiscates her laptop in the cold barn along with the shivering cows who use her computer to type messages requesting blankets. So the cows go on strike and the chickens join them in solidarity. No blankets: no milk, no eggs!
