Western Idaho Fair’s history dates back to 1897 when it got started as the Intermountain Fair. Although the foundation is the same for the Fair today as what was started all those years ago, many events have changed over time. The Intermountain Fair sprung out of a need for the community to connect Boise and other larger cities that were 300 miles apart. More than 250,000 people attend Western Idaho Fair and another 750,000 come through the facilities for trade shows, auctions, sporting events, livestock activities and company gatherings. Taste hundreds of imported and domestic wines from more than a dozen vendors during the 21st Annual WineFest on the Basque Block. This is the Basque Museum's biggest fundraiser of the year, and they have a lot planned: live music, discounted wine by the bottle, a great raffle, delicious tapas, and the Oinkari Basque Dancers. International Arena Soccer Friendlies

The U.S. National Arena Soccer Team, playing in Boise for the second consecutive summer, welcomes Team Mexico, Team Colombia and Team Somalia for a series of friendlies. The tournament-style weekend begins with Team Mexico taking on Team Colombia at 5:30PM, followed by Team USA facing Team Somalia at 7:30PM. On Saturday, the losers of the Friday matches will square off for third place at 5PM, while the Friday winners play at 7PM for the tournament championship. More info here!

Swell Artist Collective and the Old Idaho Penitentiary have partnered up for the third year in a row to present 32 Cells! This art show will feature 32 works of art by local artists inspired by the origin stories of Old Idaho Penitentiary inmates and guards. Artwork will hang on prison cell doors for viewing. All pieces will be available for purchase. Event features: self-guided tours, live music, and beer, wine and food will be available for purchase. More info here!
