BOISE, Idaho — According to a social media post, WinCo employees are required to wear face coverings at all times while working around customers or coworkers. The new standard goes into effect July 1 for all WinCo stores and employee owners of the stores.
"Our actions are guided by respect and consideration for others, which has never been truer than in the last few months as COVID-19 has disrupted life and business all over the world," the post on Facebook stated. "It is important to remember that the challenges from COVID-19 are far from over and that we all need to continue following all hygiene, face covering, social distancing and enhanced cleaning protocols. As our friend and neighbor, we encourage you to review any applicable mandates and CDC guidelines as you visit your store. Thank you for doing your part, it takes all of us."
Before this announcement, the standard was implemented in about half of WinCo stores, and it is now company-wide at all stores. For more information on Winco's response to COVID-19, click here.
