BOISE, Idaho — The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority is getting a huge grant to help victims of domestic or sexual violence.
The funds will go toward housing and support services for victims who are homeless or need transitional housing as a result of being crime victims, especially when other crisis intervention services aren't available.
The money will come from the Department of Justice, through efforts of both the Boise City-Ada County Housing Authority and the WCA.
"The cost of housing in our community continues to be an obstacle for many victims especially if they've been financially dependent upon their abuser, and so that leaves people having to face becoming homeless or having to return to the place that they were fleeing from," said Jillian Patterson, Housing Programs Director of the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority.
