The Ada County Coroner says Dennis Marsh Jr., 41, from Boise died of injuries sustained in a crushing accident at the Lactalis cheese factory in Nampa is dead after being pinned between a rack and a forklift Thursday morning.

Marsh was taken to the hospital after the incident and died. The name of the individual was not immediately released.

Canyon County spokesman Joe Decker stated, “The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office assisted the paramedics at the scene. The incident is being treated as an industrial accident unless there appears to be some sort of criminal activity, but it doesn’t look that way at this point.”

OSHA will likely be investigating the incident, Decker said.

Lactalis Vice President Pierre Lorieau released this statement earlier today:

Lactalis American Group regretfully confirms that a tragic accident occurred at the company's manufacturing facility in Nampa, Idaho.  Yesterday, at approximately 7:20am MST, an employee was injured while operating a standing forklift, and later passed away at the hospital.  Plant employees immediately provided assistance and an ambulance was dispatched following a call to 911.

Our first priority is the health and safety of our personnel. The company has launched a full investigation in order to determine the cause of this tragic accident.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of our lost colleague.
