BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Philharmonic kicked off it's 60th anniversary season Friday with an opening concert featuring world-renowned violinist Anne Akiko Meyers playing the second most expensive violin in the world.

"The violin that I'm currently exclusively performing on now is called the Vieuxtemps Guarneri Del Gesu, and it was made in 1741, so it makes the violin actually older than our country, which is extraordinary," Meyers says.

The violin was purchased for over $16 million in 2013 and was loaned to Anne to play for the remainder of her life.
